Aulani ~ A Favorite Family Vacation FOOD

Located in Ko’Olina on the beautiful island of Oahu, Aulani brings the best of the best to your vacation. Lush vegetation, green mountains, bright rainbows, gorgeous beaches, the mighty Pacific, top-notch accommodations plus the unmatched quality and service only Disney can provide make Aulani a destination you will never forget!

Daily Nosh

With several restaurants, snack shops, and a poolside menu, Aulani has so many dining choices.  My daily go-to spot was Ulu Cafe, a market-style store with grab-and-go items as well as poke bowls, hot sandwiches, flatbreads and breakfast staples. My favorite dish of all, the açaí bowl, was served up here. The traditional has strawberries, bananas and blueberries and the tropical with fresh pineapple, mango, and papaya. Get the tropical - there’s nothing better than fresh Hawaiian pineapple!

The Poolside Menu has many options to order and delivered to you at the pool or the beach. I highly recommend the Volcano Fries, french fries covered in Sriracha lava sauce. YUM!

PRO TIP

Opt for self-service delivery on poolside menu. You’ll save about $2 per item.

Treats

It wouldn’t be a Hawaiian vacation without Hawaiian Shave Ice. The Papalua Shave Ice shop offers loads of flavors, and it’s Disney so you can even request Mickey ears!  With so many flavors, you’ll likely try this treat more than once.

And of course, don’t miss out on Disney staple treats like Mickey Bars & Dole Whip!

PRO TIP

If it is hot (and let’s hope it is, you’re in Hawaii after all), savor the ice cream treat on its own. When combined with shave ice you’ll find the ice cream melts much faster than the ice and creates a very sticky mess.

Character Breakfast

Makahiki offers a character breakfast every morning.  Get your picture with Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale and feast on a delicious, three course breakfast.  Fruit and muffins will get you started, followed by the main course of omelets, French toast, pancakes, or waffles.  It is the perfect way to start your day!

Best Spot for Drinks & Dessert

The Olelo Room is the perfect place to unwind in the evening. Live music featuring ukuleles and song make a perfect musical backdrop for the setting. The drink menu is extensive (with non-alcoholic choices available) and several wonderful desserts are available. The Blue Hawaii and Tropical Itch will not disappoint. Bonus - all of the drinks are not only delicious, but beautiful too!

Ka Wa’a Lu’au

You will not want to miss the Ka Wa’a Lu’au at Aulani. The performance at the lu’au shares beautifully the history and culture of the Hawaiian people with dance, music, and even a little fire!  The performance alone makes this a worthwhile experience, but the food elevates it to a 10! Served in little boxes, not only is the meal scrumptious but it’s so cute and convenient, too! Try some of everything, but the teriyaki chicken and Kalbi ribs were the best part of the entire meal.

With so many delicious dining options, you will not go hungry at Aulani, but you may have a hard time deciding which of the many items to try. So our suggestion? Just have a little of everything - you’re on vacation!  Aloha!
