Park Hopping 101

Park fans rejoice! Park Hopping is back at Walt Disney World. It’s been a long 6 months without one of our favorite park perks and we are so excited to see it back in action.

Disney veterans will notice that park hopping isn’t like it was before. There are a few extra steps, but with our quick guide you’ll be ready to use your park hopper ticket to its fullest potential.

Here’s our easy 3 step guide to enjoying park hopping in Walt Disney World:

  1. Check Park Hopping hours in My Disney Experience App

(usually 2 pm).

2. Call 407.560.5000 to check park availability.

3. Hop to the available park of your choice and have fun!

1. Check the hours

Park hopping usually begins at 2pm daily, but this is subject to change, so it's a good idea to double check on the MDE app. This information can be found under the Park Hours portion of the app.

2. Call to Check on Availability

Calling Disney’s park capacity phone number (407.560.5000) is an important step, especially during peak times. Parks like Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios often hit capacity so knowing the park availability before you head there can save you from a major let down. When you call you will get a message that lets you know if all parks are open, or if some parks are at capacity and can’t be visited.

3. Time to hop!

Ok...so now you have your park plan for the afternoon...how do you get there? Park to park buses have been appearing at each park at about 1:45pm, but depending where you are, that might not be your only option.

Here are the current options for traveling between the parks:

Hopping from Hollywood Studios:

If you are hopping to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom you will take a bus.
If you are hopping to Epcot, you can walk along the Boardwalk (about 15-20 minutes), hop on the Skyliner or take a Friendship boat.

Hopping from Magic Kingdom:

With the Epcot Monorail line not currently running you’ll want to take a bus to your next park of choice.

Important things to Remember

*Guests who are park hopping are NOT able to join the afternoon Rise of the Resistance queue. You must have a reservation in the park that morning in order to be eligible to join the virtual queue.

*A dining reservation MAY NOT guarantee you access to a park that’s full. In other words, if you plan to hop to Magic Kingdom for your dinner reservation at Be Our Guest, if the park is at capacity, entrance is not guaranteed. You’ll want to keep this in mind when making your original park and dining reservations.

Now that you know how it works...let’s get hopping!
